Tennessee + Michigan = Same Results

If there is ever two programs that have mirrored each other in the recent past it would be Tennessee and Michigan. Both prorams have achieved many highs and lows over the past several years, and both programs have had coaches on the proverbial "hot seat"!

Take a look back to 1997 and the year the Wolverines won the national title and Charles Woodson stole the Heisman ( yes I am still bitter). The following year it was the Vols who won the national title. The similarities do not stop there. Both teams are currently owned by their two chief rivals in Ohio State and Florida!

For Lloyd Carr the losing to Ohio State eventually caught up with him. We will have to see the what will happen with coach Fulmers fate because of his and the Vols futility against the gators. Judging by the way Michigan responded and the parallel between the two programs I would say that it does not look good for coach Fulmer.

Imagine just eleven and ten short years ago Michigan and Tennessee were celebrating national titles, and now Michigan has a new coach in Rich Rodrigues, and now Tennessee may once again be following suit in the footsteps of the Michigan program. This time it will not be a celebration though, but a changing of the guard. Just like Michigan.

Another similar program is FSU. The coach there is still hanging on even as they continue to lose. Hopefully, we won't have to put up with that type of situation. Unfortunatley, Auburn wins by at least 15 on Saturday.

Thanks rtt's big bro for your insight on the state of the program, and I agree with your analogy of FSU. BTW,I think Auburn does win by at least 15. Thanks for your input as always and I look forward to more of your insightful posts!

Thanks Todd. I'm glad there is a place to vent, especially from 2 guys who are part of the 5% of the fan base at UT who did actually play football!

rtt's big bro,

We aprreciate your comments as always and I know that you also account for that 5% of the fan base that actually did play. I remember your playing days and you were an outstanding player and your father was also a terrific coach. Ren Ten Ten could play also, but please dont tell him I said that. Ask him abouth his cheap shot on me one day in practice( of course I was not the best practice player).

Thanks, Todd. RTT was a cheap shot artist. If you got hit late by him, that just meant that you were probably doing what you were supposed to do. I would have taken a cheap shot artist at Tebow. Even though he is a nice enough guy, having him in at the end of the game, both this year and last year, in my opinion gives his the right to "take his knee out" as Danny Ford would say. In response to your other post, we are as pathetic as we were in the early 80s. The good thing about that was that we never really got our hopes up then. Now, we expect to be good, be we are TERRIBLE!
